Hello and Happy Summer to all who are lucky enough to be enjoying their vacation. Today summer finally began for me, however the weather does not match my idea of a perfect summer day. Hopefully it changes soon but in the mean time I have been listening to summertime music to get me in the mood. Lately I've been playing a mix cd (courtesy of my cousin) with mostly reggae songs. My current favorite is Time Bomb by Iration. The sound is very chill and the lyrics are catchy and memorable. Perfect addition to a summertime soundtrack; I definitely recommend it! Take a listen!
I have also recently discovered a little-known (to me prior to last week) artist named Nicole Atkins (and the Black Sea.) The group is stopping by Toledo, Ohio on June 9th and I am super excited to see them play. I feel that it is absolutely necessary to become familiar with an artist's songs before going to their concert, to ensure that I will be able to sing along to some of their setlist, and therefore increase my chances of having a wonderful concert experience. My current favorites are Cry, Cry, Cry and Maybe Tonight.
Now that school is over, I intend to be posting and updating my blog more often. For those who are done with school, enjoy your summer! For those of you who still have a little while to go, keep going! I have faith!
Hello! My name is Gabi Enrique and I am a junior (soon to be senior) at an all girl's-catholic school in Ohio. My interests include fashion, music, makeup, travel, among other things, and those interets will be featured in my blog (along with other random topics). Make-up is a relatively new and primary interest of mine and my free time is often consummed with watching beauty gurus Elle and Blair Fowler on youtube (allthatglitters21 and juicystar07), as well as spending most of my money on various beauty products that I "need." I recently went to visit my newly confirmed cousin in Bloomington, Indiana and she sent me home with a couple of CDs of her favorite songs, artists, and genres. Her music interests tend to be a bit more ecclectic than mine although we both share a love of Amy Winehouse. My most recent favorite is "Valerie." To my understanding the official artist of that song is Mark Ronson, although Amy does the vocals on the track and I love it!
School is out in five more days and my anticipation, as well as lack of focus or dedication are growing rapidly. I am exactly three days and two exams away from freedom and I can't wait to released from my academic confinement. I visited Europe, specifically Spain, for the first time last summer and I will be returning again this year for a marketing internship. I am super excited and I hope to blog all about my trip frequently.
